The Great South Wall Walk
You can’t beat the Poolbeg Lighthouse along the South Wall walk, which was built in 1700’s, starts at Ringsend (Dublin 4) and leads into Dublin Bay. At the time of its construction it was the world’s longest see walk, and at the moment it is still one of the longest in Europe. So if the day is good, this is definitely super walk choice. At the lighthouse, you will feel as if you’re in the open sea and that’s the time, when it pays you off- you’ll see a great view of the entire bay, Wicklow and Howth.
A 4 miles walk on the water will provide you with stunning views of Howth, Killiney , Dun Laoghaire, The RTE transmission tower at Donnybrook and Belfield, Pigeon House and its red and white chimneys, famous Spire monument, Bull Island, Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2, also Sugar Loaf in Wicklow and constantly ships rolling in and away.Its Dublin’s hidden gem.
